Film Family Photos at Red Rocks

So even though I no longer photograph for hire, I still love to go out and do family photos for friends, maybe for the cost of a little film and processing – and a little Amazon card to help with my film addictions.  🙂

Annie is someone I’ve worked with for the past seven or so years, she’s the event manager up at Dunafon Castle and out of the 100+ weddings I’ve done the last few years, probably 30% or so where up there.   I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Annie’s family before and it was without hesitation I agreed to again when she asked.

The time Annies extended family was there, parents, siblings, nieces and nephew.  Weather and plans they had worked against us a bit giving us a very narrow window of opportunity to work with, and that left us with a time of day that the light was a little more brutal than I’d of normally liked to shoot in, but being able to handle harsh light is one area I think film does a much nicer and less contrasty job than digital capture does.

Camera: Pentax 645Nii
Film: Kodak Portra 160
